Acceptable Use Policy

Draft. Not legal advice. Review with a lawyer before launch.

This policy covers your listing and the site it points to. It forms part of the Terms of Service. Paying does not buy an exemption from it.

The basic requirement

Your destination must be a working, public web page that you control, or that you are authorised by its owner to promote.

That means:

Bidding on a competitor's site that you do not control is prohibited. You may not list a business, brand, or URL that is not yours and that you have no authority to advertise, whether to mock it, to associate it with something, or to spend its position away.

Prohibited content and destinations

We do not accept listings for any of the following.

Adult and sexual content. Pornography, escort services, sexual services, adult cam sites, and sexually explicit material of any kind.

Illegal goods and services. Anything unlawful where you are, where we are, or where the visitor is. This includes stolen goods, stolen data, forged documents, and identity documents.

Weapons. Firearms, ammunition, parts and conversion devices, explosives, and regulated knives or weapons.

Drugs and research chemicals. Controlled substances, novel psychoactive substances, "research chemicals", precursors, and paraphernalia. This includes products marketed as legal analogues of a controlled drug.

Gambling. Casinos, sportsbooks, betting exchanges, lotteries, sweepstakes, loot-box services, and gambling affiliate sites.

Unlicensed financial offers. Investment, credit, lending, debt relief, forex, binary options, CFDs, securities offers, and money transmission where you do not hold the licence the activity requires.

Unlicensed medical and health claims. Treatments, cures, supplements, devices, and clinics that make health claims without the approval or licence the law requires. No claim to treat, cure, or prevent disease without authorisation.

Counterfeits and replicas. Fakes, knock-offs, "replica" or "inspired by" goods, and unauthorised resale of branded product.

Malware, phishing, and deceptive downloads. Malware, spyware, stalkerware, credential phishing, fake login pages, fake update prompts, drive-by downloads, and bundled unwanted software.

Impersonation. Posing as a person, a business, a public body, or a brand you are not. This includes impersonating outrankm.ee, our staff, our badges, our archive pages, or our payment flow.

Hate speech and harassment. Content that attacks or degrades people on the basis of a protected characteristic, and content that targets, doxes, threatens, or harasses a person or a group.

Content involving minors. Any sexualised depiction of a minor, any content that targets children commercially, and any service that puts minors at risk. We report suspected child sexual abuse material to the authorities.

Crypto token sales and schemes. Token sales, ICOs, presales, memecoins, pump-and-dump schemes, "guaranteed return" staking or yield offers, and mixers.

MLM and get-rich-quick offers. Multi-level marketing, pyramid and matrix schemes, "passive income" and "financial freedom" programmes that promise earnings.

Fake engagement. Services that sell followers, likes, views, votes, installs, ratings, or reviews, and services that write or place fake reviews.

Academic fraud and detection evasion. Essay mills, exam-taking services, and tools sold to defeat plagiarism detection, AI-text detection, proctoring, or identity verification.

Empty destinations. Invite-only links, chat-only links, group links, and any URL whose only content is a request to join something.

Cloaking and deceptive redirects. Links that show one thing to a crawler and another to a visitor, links that redirect based on the visitor's country, device, or referrer, and links that switch destination after review.

Prohibited conduct

What happens if you breach this policy

We remove the listing. You get no refund of any amount you have paid.

We may also ban you, your business, and your domains from the site permanently, and refuse future payments. In serious cases we report the matter to our payment processor and to the relevant authorities.

We keep the payment record for auditing after removal. We remove only the public display.

We decide these matters at our discretion. We do not owe you a hearing, a warning, or an explanation, though we often give one.

Complaints from rights holders

If a listing infringes your trade mark, copyright, or other right, or impersonates you, email [email protected] with:

  1. The work or mark. Identify what you own, and give a registration number or a link to your own use of it.
  2. The listing. Give the listing name and a link to the page where it appears, so we can find it exactly.
  3. Your authority. State that you are the rights holder, or that you are authorised to act for them, and name them.
  4. The problem. Explain in a sentence or two why the listing infringes.
  5. A good-faith statement. Confirm that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent, or the law, and that the information you have given is accurate.
  6. Contact details. A name, an email address, and a postal address we can reply to.

We acknowledge complaints and tell you our decision within 5 business days of receipt. We may remove the listing while we look at it. We may pass your complaint to the advertiser so it can respond.

Do not send a complaint about a listing you simply dislike or compete with. Use this route for rights and impersonation only. For anything else, write to [email protected] and describe the problem plainly.
